Training

My ballet classes are intended for adults with some dance experience and a basic understanding of ballet terminology.

I begin the class with a gentle warm-up, using elements of modern and contemporary dance, focus on stretching and strengthening the core, followed by a complete ballet class. We work seriously and professionally, but also allow space for fun.

Recurring themes include body alignment, musicality, expression and efficiency of movement.

Method

During my years as a professional ballet dancer, I was always interested in experiencing other forms of dance and body work. Therefore I was attracted to less conventional teachers as well as training methods like White Cloud (now: Gyrotonic), Pilates and Yoga. My background as a competitive swimmer and gymnast also influences my knowledge and teaching style.
